About Let’s Learn Cree Academy
Let’s Learn Cree Academy is a grassroots language learning initiative dedicated to preserving, revitalizing, and sharing Nêhiyawêwin (the Cree language) in a way that is welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to all.
Founded with the goal of reconnecting people to language, identity, and culture, the Academy offers structured language programs, including beginner-level Cree courses designed for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners. Our classroom environment promotes cultural understanding, healing, and truth and reconciliation through the power of language.
We proudly support:
-
Indigenous families reclaiming their language
-
Teachers and educators seeking meaningful classroom integration
-
Social workers, frontline workers, and organizations building culturally relevant skills
-
Non-Indigenous allies committed to learning and relationship-building
At the core of our Academy is the belief that language is more than just words — it is a connection to ancestors, land, and spirit. Through our programs, materials, and community-based learning, we strive to keep Cree language alive for future generations.
Let’s Learn Cree — together.
